After being approached by a
company called First Marketing regarding an investment into Gold mining I was
put in touch with Mr Elliott Gratwick from SS Global Trading Ltd. He told me he
and a Mr Anthony Versfeld (Northface Investments Ltd) were in joint venture
together with a business arrangement and for £10,000 I could buy into fractions
of gold mines where they were already drilling and extracting Gold! I was of
course unsure and asked if they took a credit card payment as if this was a
scam under section 75 I wanted to be covered. He agreed and after doing a bit
of research myself on him, his business partner (Mr Versfeld) and their
business I decided to invest. I arrange to meet him so I could pay my first
initial deposit using his chip and pin Pay Pal here device, then I bank
transferred the balance. Again a month later I decided to invest again and as
before I met him to use his pay pal here chip and pin for the deposit then I
bank transferred the balance. He wanted me to keep investing, but as the first
and second time I invested I wouldn’t see returns for 6 months I told him if I
were to invest a 3rd time I would need an agreement for a guaranteed
return. He and his business partner agreed and put together an annex agreement
that I would receive 6.5% a month over a 5 year period. Again I met with him,
Paid as before a portion of each contract via his pay Pal here chip and pin
device then bank transferred the rest. Shortly after that out of the blue the
Fraud police contacted me as they informed us we had been involved in a “Boiler
Room Scam” After the phone call I quickly contacted Mr Elliott Gratwick to of
which he denied all claim of that nature. After the 6 months came.... NOTHING! I
contacted him and after badgering him I managed to get some payment. Then the
next month and again NOTHING but excuses from banking errors their end and my
end (all false!) again after threatening legal action from my credit card
provider returns materialized! Then that was it!! The following month(s)
NOTHING I just had months and months and months of excuses. I ran out of
patience in the August of 2015 when I contacted My Credit Card Company. They
looked into my case and threw it out as I paid via PayPal, BUT (and here is the
interesting part) by using Mr Gratwick’s Pay Pal here chip and pin device this
unit acts like a normal credit card transaction like you would pay in any
normal high street. The funds are sent directly to the merchant and therefore PayPal
have NO dealing with the payment other than using a machine they market to make
the payment. I took my findings to the Ombudsman and the FOS ruled in my
favours for a complete refund for all purchase contracts I made minus the few
thousand I received in returns (under a Ponzi scheme!) plus a few percent
interest on top! Currently 3 card companies I used have been forced to refund
me in full after the FOS assessment and final conclusions and even after 1 card
company asked for a 2nd Ombudsman to review the debtor creditor part
of my claim my claim was STILL upheld. The other two saw sense and didn’t want
to drag out the inevitable and that is paying using a companies (or
individuals) Pay Pal Here Chip and pin device is no different to paying using
any high street retailers card machine device![REMEMBER THAT FOLKS!!] Sure if I
would had paid online to his PayPal account that would had been a whole
different story and I would had been scammed. In April 2016 I can confirm that ALL credit card companies have refunded me back IN FULL minus the few thousand I got last year under the Ponzi scheme these scammers were operating under, but with the added interest the card companies were forced to pay it meant I was pretty much refunded ALL what I paid out to that scamming @wat in 2014 meaning what he actually paid me back via the "Ponzi Scheme" was a bit of money in my pocket! So I guess I
am not looking for help as such by posting this blog, but as a warning to
others (but I am still owed from his company 11 months of guaranteed
contractual returns at £2,600 a month plus extra’s meaning his company owes me
about £30,000!! I have all the relevant paperwork to show the guaranteed and
signed by them too plus all emails and recorded phone calls proving this
agreement WAS in place between his company and me. So if anyone can help me
with that part of things I would be grateful. I want to warn ANYONE reading this that if
they come across these two individuals [MR ELLIOTT GRATWICK & MR ANTHONY
VERSFELD] to run in the opposite direction and fast!! Mr Elliott Gratwick is
extremely convincing and comes across as very trusting, polite and assuring,
but I can assure you this... Once he has your money then YOU ARE DOING ALL THE
CHASING, as his phone calls to you and emails dry up!! They scammed me out of
£80,000 (well the credit card companies as it was THEIR money which was stolen and NOT mine in the end!) and I believe in total there were around 500 investors into this Zimbabwean
Golding Mining Scam! To this day when I last was in communication with Mr
Gratwick (as Mr Versfeld somehow dropped off the face of the earth in Aug 2015
when I started my section 75 claims!! Hmmm) in Dec 2015 and for month previous
too he insists this investment is NOT a scam and his company WILL refund me back
in full, but up until that point I would still get my guaranteed monthly
returns (£2,600 a month plus extra’s for the 1st 2 sets of contracts
I initially took out). It’s now June 2016 and I’ve not heard
from Elliott Gratwick at ANYPOINT this year and/or received a single cent!!
What a of scamming @astard. I feel for those that didn’t use their credit
card as I fear this scam has netted those to scam artists several million. I
hope anyone reading this that invested can seek legal advice and if by good
fortune like me you did use Mr Gratwicks Pay Pal Here device along with your
credit card you too can contact the Ombudsman. Explain about my test case (so
they have all relevant files to hand) and you too can push for a refund via
your card provider under section 75 .If you or anyone reading this has been affected by this scam then contact me and if I can help in anyway I would like to try.
